Colombo, January 10-12, 2025 — The Association of Cardiothoracic and Thoracic Surgeons of Sri Lanka (ACTSSL) is set to host its Annual Academic Sessions 2025 at the Grand Ballroom of Waters Edge, Battaramulla. The event will feature a series of high-profile lectures, discussions, and workshops aimed at advancing the field of cardiothoracic surgery.

January 10, 2025 (Inauguration):
The sessions will open with a ceremonial inauguration featuring a keynote address by Professor David Taggart of the University of Oxford, highlighting innovations in optimizing conduits for coronary artery bypass grafts (CABGs). -
Day 1 (January 11, 2025):
- A keynote on the history of cardiac surgery by Mr. Nihal Kulatilaka.
- Key plenary sessions on establishing cardiac transplant programs (Dr. Catherine Sudarshan), pulmonary endarterectomy (Dr. Rakesh Seetharam), and CABGs in patients with impaired ventricular function (Prof. David Taggart).
