ACTSSL CME 2024 April Session

The Association of Sri Lankan Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons (ASTSSL) is hosting a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session at Lanka Hospitals Colombo on April 7th, 2024, at 7:00 pm.

The session will feature insightful presentations on various topics related to cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.

Dr. S. Nishanthan, Senior Regitrar in Cardiothoracic Surgery, will lead a discussion on the "Effect of total arterial grafting in Arterial revascularization trial," based on a study by Taggart Et al. This journal club presentation promises to offer valuable insights into arterial grafting techniques and their impact on patient outcomes.

Following this, Dr. Kavinda Nagodawithana, also a Senior Registrar in Cardiothoracic Surgery, will present a case on the "Surgical management of HOCM (Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy)." This case presentation will delve into the intricacies of managing this complex cardiac condition surgically.

Lastly, Dr. Hosanda Weerasekara, Senior Registrar in Thoracic Surgery, will facilitate a discussion on "Pulmonary Metastasectomy in colorectal Cancer," focusing on a recent journal article. This session will explore the role of pulmonary metastasectomy in the treatment of colorectal cancer and its implications for thoracic surgery practice.
